Why Choose Verve Studio

About Krystal

I’m known for taking photos.

Good ones even. I have lots of fancy letters after my name and bunches of awards and trophies in boxes… somewhere.

But what does that really mean? Mostly that you can trust me to make beautiful images.

Even on rainy days, chilly mornings, during hurricanes (it’s happened), under threat of sniper fire (yep, that too), when your toddler has a meltdown, when the baby won’t sleep and curl up into a tiny adorable knit costume, when your editor is breathing down your neck for a quick magazine shoot, when you need your headshots asap to send out those resumes, when you haven’t lost that last bit of weight and still want to look great and even you show up with your “puppy” (which you forgot to mention is a 175 lb Newfoundland – also true).

It’s crazy, it’s wonderful, it’s maddening, and I just love it! I deeply truly love it.

Every part of it (except tax preparation – Can I get an Amen?) learning new techniques, playing with light and shadow, watching families grow, seeing styles evolve to my very favorite … catching that pure real moment in time when you are your most you.

I’m married to my college sweetheart (and level 65 dwarf hunter) Matt, and mom to two “wackadoodle noodles” Leo-6 & Trixie-3. They keep me laughing… and sometimes drinking. I’d say my spirit animal is Dolly Parton in the 80’s and that I always want to be classy but most of the time it just turns out “Klassy” and I end up wearing the tasteful gold stretchy pants instead of the bedazzled denim jacket I first considered. Either way we both win, am I right?

Let’s go get weird with it y’all.

“She was INCREDIBLE with my grumpy toddler! She skillfully puts everyone at ease, and she works wonders with lighting. The images are beautiful. Highly recommend!”
